A Letter from Phil Bartos

Dear Friend,

No man lives alone with prostate cancer.  Our families and friends take the journey with us at every step from diagnosis through recovery.

Fortunately, many of us who encounter this disease soon find our way to the Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation.

Our families and friends quickly learn to call on the APCF staff for information, for a touch of encouragement at a tough moment, for a compassionate, impartial and knowledgeable discussion of treatments and choices.

The Foundation staff and volunteers have been a steady source of support, good-hearted humor and much more for my family and friends.  They have helped me manage so many of the challenges that prostate cancer brings to a family.

As Janet and I approach Thanksgiving, along with our six children and eleven grandchildren, we prepare to give thanks for so much and especially this year, for the welcome presence in our lives of the APCF.  I am particularly grateful for the positive attitude that the Foundation brings to my family.  I know I share that gratitude with other survivors.

This Thanksgiving season, I encourage men--and their families and friends--who are dealing with prostate cancer, to reflect on the support that APCF offers to all of us and to our communities.  And in that moment, to decide to help sustain the continued service of the APCF with a donation as generous as the gift we all receive from the Foundation.

My family and I will do our part. I hope you will join us.

Thank you, APCF team, for your warm embrace and loving care.

Sincerely,

 bartos sig
